Alya Architecture designed the Ref Logistics offices with a sophisticated and welcoming feel in Istanbul, Turkey.

The Ref Logistics project, designed by Alya Architecture, covers an area of approximately 400 square meters and was designed with a focus on executive offices and workspaces. The design placed great emphasis on functionality, comfort, and aesthetics. Elements such as furniture, color, and lighting were carefully selected to create an environment where employees can work efficiently. In addition, the overall atmosphere of the office and the company’s identity were taken into consideration to create a unique design.
Office design is crucial for a company operating in the import and export sector, as they work in a sector where they directly interact with customers and business partners.

Designing an impressive space for a logistics company’s office requires considering many factors. Logistics companies typically handle high volume transactions, so office design should be optimized to enable efficient and fast operations.

In office design, they prioritized functionality and usability and accordingly, office furniture, lighting, color selection, and other elements were chosen to fit the purpose of the office and the needs of the employees. In addition, as logistics companies often work in high-stress environments, office design should be designed to help reduce employee stress levels and increase motivation. For this purpose, the use of natural elements such as green plants and natural light can help relax employees’ minds and reduce stress.

Pimodek Architecture embraced natural light when completing the design for the VeVentures Corporate Group offices in Istanbul, Turkey.

The executive rooms, meeting room, and co-working space are situated around a circular common area that is for lounge & waiting in the square-planned office. Also, this area that defines the entrance hall, is also thought as a core that allows for spatial circulation throughout the workspace.

The meeting room is intended as an extension of one of the executive rooms, divided by a sliding door. With a transparent approach, the second executive room is seperated by glass partitions from the common area. Furthermore, the co-working space is planned as part of the common area to provide a flexible perspective. In this sense, a workspace that offers continuity around the core and is perceived as wide as possible, is created.

In the project; the material of wood is preferred in the wall panels and ceiling details that defines the common area, and it is completed with dark tones of marble. The semi-circular wall, which refers to the common area, is defined with metal panels.

Vemi was tasked with the office design for Burgess Rawson for their space located in Melbourne, Australia.

Burgess Rawson are a commercial real estate company built upon strong relationships and bold beliefs. Their new office located in central Melbourne embodies their brand identity, heritage, and unique company culture. Housing a large, collaborative office – the team required an entire floorplate of approximately 1099SQM which was designed and built according to their unique briefing outcomes and business requirements.

Upon entering the space, pops of burgundy, burnt oranges, blue and olives tones are scattered throughout. A daring, earthy colour palette inspired by Australian landscapes adds richness and character. A transparent front of house invites clients to peak at the large, social breakout space – celebrating the company’s vibrant, yet professional personality. Playful arches derived from the Burgess Rawson brand are incorporated subtly throughout the workplace – paying homage to the business’s identity and brandmark.

Workplace Strategy
Hosting over 90 workstations for both current employees and growth, multiple briefings were conducted to ensure department synergies were understood and considered deeply. Teams were strategically positioned to assist in acoustics, amenities access and to build efficiencies in working styles. By placing precedence on department relationships and individual working styles, team’s can work more effectively and gain maximum benefits from their working environment. The outcome of this workplace strategy has created a space that not only encompasses the Burgess Rawson brand, heritage and vibrant culture – but a space that works uniquely for its people.

WTF Arquitectos created a space in line with Red Bull‘s company ethos for their offices in Mexico City, Mexico.

The project is developed in a free plant that allows the user to have a broad vision of the whole and that at each step he takes, it leads him to discover a memorable event or activity. Each of the spaces is multifunctional, the reception is transformed into a DJ booth, connecting with the bar – dining room – bar that in turn distributes gently to the rest of the space. The concept is summarized in giving wings to people through ideas.

The reception is inspired by a cenote, playing with two of its characteristic elements: water and sky, through two reflective pieces, the user will feel mimicked with the space and the brand, showing the logo and the user in his journey, finishing with the rear lattice, inspired by the negative of a climbing wall.

Each boardroom has iconic elements, in particular one, we transformed the Red Bull can into an architectural element, hanging around a thousand cans that generate a unique ceiling for this project and solves the acoustics of the place.

The floors were made of terrazzo-like rubber with accents on rugs to give it a more residential touch, moving away from the office concept to design a community concept.

By forgetting the office concept and putting the word challenge, we opened the architectural program to a range of possibilities for the use of spaces, users transform and live differently each place and it is for this reason, in addition to having the formal part of the work, we also offered a fun and dynamic alternative to live the layout, the recreational areas are integrated to generate a new community, a RED BULL community.

Architecture Plus Information (A+I) created an office with a variety of workspaces for the Publicis Groupe in New York City, New York.

The project began with the client’s desire to draw creative value from the full scale of the organization. Underpinned by A+I’s strategic process, the vision for a ‘Clubhouse for Creativity’ became a way to unite talent across the company’s many agencies, dissolving traditional interagency silos; and to enable their creativity.

To reflect the non-linear nature of creativity, the space consists of wildly diverse environments that support the creative demands of any given moment. There are far fewer workstations than headcount, giving way to more flexible, non-deterministic spaces, from intimate nooks to broad open public platforms. There are bullpens, auditoriums, libraries, nooks, niches, and flexible collaborative lounges near one another to enable an individual or team to gather to test an idea, or retreat to refine one.

These strategically different environments cater to the widest range of work styles and personality types, empowering everyone to find a place where they feel they belong and can be creative. Whether it’s a pink, tech-less meeting room hidden behind a mirrored door exuding quiet and calm, or a dynamic and high energy open work counter sunken into the floor, the variety of sensorial experiences gives people the autonomy to choose a space, color and mode that suits them.

Together, A+I and Publicis imagined what Le Truc’s agency model could be and delivered that mission in space to unlock creativity. Diverse in experiences, the project met the company’s ambitions to transform how and where creative work happens. Le Truc’s Clubhouse for Creativity” is emblematic of a new model of work, and is now the center of gravity for the creative culture of Publicis, North America.

Yalın Tan + Partners designed the Nokia offices in Istanbul, Turkey, incorporating warm colors and creating a welcoming environment. The design seamlessly merges Scandinavian clarity with modern-day Istanbul aesthetics. The simplicity of the design aligns with Nokia%27s and Finland%27s design ethos.

The project%27s inception involved directing the initial design phase. Extensive mood boards, rooted in Nokia%27s corporate color palette, were prepared to interpret the brand%27s heritage. The design concept reimagined Nokia%27s global office characteristics, seamlessly incorporating Turkish influences. This included sourcing unique furniture from various design schools.

Specialist soundproofing panels were strategically employed throughout the office to achieve acoustic balance. These panels feature a raised, wavy pattern that not only introduces depth and texture but also infuses vibrancy into the surroundings. The color of these panels was thoughtfully selected to harmonize with the Scandinavian style, imbuing a pleasant atmosphere while effectively delineating office areas, all without the need for partitions or contrasting color blocks.

In the context of the Nokia project, a preference was given to a clean aesthetic inspired by the simplicity of Scandinavian design. However, minimalism transcends mere furniture reduction; it%27s about optimizing the function of furniture within a minimal framework. The design aimed to provide opportunities for employees to customize their workspaces. The marriage of minimal style and inherent functionality within the office fosters a serene and spacious environment, allowing the mind to breathe.

Hollandse Nieuwe completed a creative and playful space with ample room for collaboration at the iO Campus office in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Design principles

The iO Campus concept is inspired by how iO sees the world. Operating in an ever-changing market has led the company to continuously seek out innovation, follow their curiosity and explore infinite opportunities. An iO work environment therefore should also embody these ideas. Hollandse Nieuwe were tasked with developing a workplace that facilitates and encourages change, offers flexible spaces and a wide variety of different work typologies. Ultimately, each iO Campus was to be a unique vibrant workplace, united by shared goals, providing innovative ways to learn, collaborate, play and relax.

Materials and colours
Keeping the existing raw finishes of each location as a neutral base, the material palette of the campus concept is clear, concise and flexible, with room for personality and unique moments. A light linoleum flooring, cement wool and an abundance of plants create a simple, sharp clarity between the existing and the new. Furniture curated from other iO locations fits perfectly in this palette. The closed blocks and communal furniture are constructed from ribs of sustainable birch plywood. The ribs allow easy expansion or division of spaces and provide a new visual rhythm. Accent colours and patterns from the iO style guide, mixed with work from local artists are used to shape the inside of the closed spaces, the informal areas and the signage.

Sustainability and wellbeing
The concept’s built-in flexibility complies with iO’s ambition in circularity and sustainability. Having a flexible, adaptable space creates the opportunity for continuous adjustment rather than extensive rebuilding, addressing both short as well as long term workplace strategies. This, coupled with sustainable material choices, concentrating plants into meaningful areas, maximising daylight and stimulating movement, creates a series of projects that channel the idea of a Campus into new and innovative environments that are about much more than only work.

BAB Architects designed the Anadolu Agency offices with pops of color highlighting a welcoming space in Ankara, Turkey.

Anadolu Agency Ankara Open Office Project redesigned with an open-plan, functional and innovative approach by BAB Architects, which is developed in order to create a dynamic, energetic and colorful environment with a young spirit and to create a transparent, multi-purpose working environment which supports teamwork.

The open-plan office concept, has been built on a design formula where the professional production in the office is a living form. It takes shape according to the environment it is in, constantly develops and changes, and is fed by the richness of ideas aimed at collective work. In this context, Anadolu Agency Ankara Open Office Project has been developed in order to create a dynamic, energetic and colorful environment with a young spirit and to create a transparent, multi-purpose working environment which supports teamwork. A spacious and bright working environment is provided by dividing the space as little as possible by walls. Instead of the removed fixed walls, spatial separations have been made with folding separators and portable furniture dividers which allows the functions to be converted into each other, according to the needs of the users. Working cabins called booths” were used for situations requiring subjective work and for short-term private interviews. On the other hand, in conference rooms and administrative rooms -planned for long-term private meetings, the necessary privacy is protected with plasterboard and partition walls.

Each floor of this three storey project has a different but harmonious color concept. In this place where vibrant colors dominate, the color scenario manifests itself in basic items such as furniture, lighting elements, flooring and wall coverings. A multi-colored, moving chain used for the shade which is surrounding the gallery space on the floors; is one of the most striking examples of it. Also, BAB Architects preferred to use different colors to separate sections with different functions such as work and resting areas and administrative units.

Throughout the design, transparent and permeable products were preferred in material selection. For example: perforated mesh panels are used on the ceiling and glass surfaces are often featured in fixed furniture and dividers. The mesh panels also make seem the story height as if it is higher by making the perception of the low heighted space disappear. Therefore, where the overall story height is low, this opportunity has given us a particular advantage.

Yalın Tan + Partners designed the expansive Unilever offices with modern and thoughtful design elements for a future-oriented workspace in Istanbul, Turkey.

Modern workplaces are the future of work, and the Unilever office in Istanbul is one such example. This cutting-edge office, which spans six floors and about 15,000 square meters, was created to support hybrid work systems and meet the needs of workers who value a flexible work environment. As the pandemic forced workers to work from home, Unilever adopted a post-pandemic strategy and completely redesigned the office to provide a space that goes beyond the comforts of home, creating a welcoming, cosy atmosphere.

At the Unilever Istanbul Office, the biophilic design was implemented to ensure a sustainable design strategy. Sustainability is at the heart of design, and to support that, a lot of natural materials and vegetation have been used. The idea of flowing with nature” was continued by creating green spaces and natural light. This makes the workplace more relaxing and conducive to productivity. With the help of lighting automation technologies, employees will be more productive and experience less stress throughout the day. Each level has alternate workplaces and bookable meeting spaces that encourage flexibility and collaboration and give staff members the choice to work in a setting that best matches their needs. The concept also included major monumental feature points and digital experiences throughout the space for user experiences.

Perkins&Will used warm materials and bold colors for the Timbro offices in Sao Paulo, Brazil

The chosen building has a facade with details in oxidized copper sheets, in a greenish hue, referring to one of the products imported by Timbro, copper. This was the starting point for the design, which sought to refer to easily identifiable and representative elements of the company’s activities.

The team then turned to semantic research on the word timbre, of French origin and meaning stamp or seal. That is, that which indicates that the correspondence or order is ready to be sent. As in the past the letters were closed with wax seals in an earthy tone, the designers decided to include this tone in the interlining – the intermediate layer between the lighting structures and the lining itself. The color also dialogues with the copper, which is materially present not only on the building’s oxidized façade, but also on the polished sheet that covers the reception desk.

The circular organization of the flows dispenses with the use of partitions, emphasizing the general and integrated view of the entire environment. In this way, it was possible to create a route that simulates going around the world, since most of the items transported in Timbro’s operations are carried by sea. The connection with the ocean is reinforced by the walls in shades of blue and also by stretches of carpet.

The Design Group created a warm and welcoming environment for the OLX Group offices in Poznan, Poland.

The reconstruction of the OLX office began shortly after the pandemic – in mid-2021. Therefore, the client wanted the office to be adapted to the conditions that the employees worked out during home-office, with particular attention to workplace ergonomics and safety. That’s why the OLX office is a place of interdisciplinary activities, where individual zones or rooms can be designed and used according to needs or situations. The office has a great variety of rooms and lounges where one can work in silence, conduct a brainstorming session or even organize a call with some of the team working from home. Such a wide spectrum of rooms allows users to change their workspace whenever they need to. Only half of the desks in the office are for regular employees. The rest are hot desks.

The aim of the design of the OLX office was also to recreate a homey atmosphere. In many spaces, we have designed soft seats or comfortable armchairs to approximate the cosy atmosphere in these spaces as much as possible. One can sit back and work comfortably here, just like at home. This climate is accentuated by wood-like PVC panels on the floor and carpets, which can be found in various areas of the office. Rooms, on the other hand, are often equipped with thick curtains, which not only perform acoustic functions but also give the space a cosy feel. For even better acoustics in the office, we suspended laminated baffles that together weigh more than 200 tons.

ASD|SKY worked with Aprio; a national accounting firm headquartered in Atlanta.
The final design provides everyone a seat within the 60,000 SF. Total number of seats includes all areas within their new office and are not limited to desks, rather, they include breakout areas, soft seating, and other collaborative spaces. Within this model, there is a seat for everyone, a plug for everyone’s computer, and offers the flexibility of deciding where and how people chose to work each day.

To reinforce the desire for camaraderie and culture over a quarter of the square footage is dedicated to a social hub that introduces a variety of seating options for different collaborative styles, communicating stair connecting the social hub with the primary conference and training areas. The conference and training areas significantly invested in technology so those working remotely still feel connected, allowing Aprio to hire talent from anywhere.

In addition to the primary office floors, Aprio chose to occupy space on the first floor of the building in order to engage with clients right away, further their brand awareness, and have their own reception.

The space employs a more hospitality forward finish palette and introduces warm blue hues, velvet, leather, and a mix of textures and fabrics, resulting in a warm and inviting space.

Studio BV completed the first office for OurFamilyWizard, a technology company in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The company had grown during the pandemic and wanted to find a new office that would be a draw for the employee mix and for people to come together and create relationships.

The search landed the tech company at historic Loose Wiles Building in the North Loop of Minneapolis. This building was once home to the Sunshine Biscuit Company that produced Cheez Its and Animal Crackers. The top two floors of the building is now the new office for OurFamilyWizard.

OurFamilyWizard, is a technology company that creates and manages an app that allows families to co-parent after divorce. Our Family Wizard’s platform gives families the tools they need to navigate the confusion, tension, and constraints, to a healthy communication platform that facilitates healthy behaviors and a new future.

This design concept focuses this path between the past and the future. What is in between is the work of Our Family Wizard creating tools for families to navigate their future.

The historic components of the building reflect the past, old methods, rough textures. These components are embraced and in response we bring natural, and organic textures and color to the places where teams gather and connect. This contrast represents the evolution that Families go through when moving towards a new future because of OurFamilyWizard.

The design features two bar areas for teams to work and socialize. A large open lounge space that rings the two-story atrium space. A large communal stair that supports team events and meetings.

The office is warm, soft and has moments of elegance. It welcomes people in and asks them to stay and engage.

Facepunch Studios, an independent game developer, commissioned Oktra to design their office space in Birmingham, England. The goal was to create a statement office that reflects the company's brand identity and provides a hub for staff and visitors. The office features a variety of working, gaming, and social spaces, including dedicated game areas where staff can play Facepunch titles and interact with the brand. The breakout area boasts a LAN gaming bench and a large AV screen for communal gaming activities. A standout feature is the arcade tunnel with an infinity mirror and LED lighting, offering an immersive gaming experience for visitors.

The office also prioritizes social spaces, with a centrally located breakout area featuring a curved bar station, multifunctional kitchen, and a large congregational area for social gatherings. This space has a luxury hospitality feel and encourages connectivity among employees. The other half of the office is designed for quiet working, with cellular offices, individual call pods, and high-backed booths. The open plan area includes curved desks with greenery emerging from them, creating a biophilic environment that promotes wellbeing.

The office design incorporates elements that reflect the Facepunch brand, including a large suspended illuminated logo in the reception area and a curved red ribbon throughout the space, symbolizing creativity and guiding people through different areas. Sleek black finishes, vibrant branding, natural wood, warm lighting, and rich velvet finishes create a luxurious and unique workplace. The design aims to cater to the diverse needs of the Facepunch team, offering functional workstations and exemplary amenities.
